Indian-origin businessman Pankaj Oswal has filed an appeal in the United Nations against Uganda. According to media reports, he has claimed that his 26-year-old daughter Vasundhara Oswal has been illegally detained in Uganda for the last 17 days. She is being ill-treated there.
Pankaj has filed an appeal before the United Nations Working Group and said that he is unable to contact Vasundhara nor is she able to get legal help. So far, the Indian government or any UN official has not commented on this matter.
Pankaj Oswal’s daughter is the executive director of PRO Industries and handles the company’s operations. She also has business in Uganda.
In a post on social media, information about Vasundhara’s illegal detention has been given from her account. It has been said that Vasundhara’s phone has been snatched from her due to which no one is able to contact her. The picture is taken from Instagram.
Arrested from Oswal’s plant:
According to reports, Vasundhara was captured by about 20 armed men from Oswal’s plant in Uganda. They did not show their identity or warrant before arresting her. Pankaj claimed that his daughter’s arrest was due to corporate and political manipulation. There is no evidence against her, so she is being held illegally.
According to Pankaj, a former employee had taken a loan of $ 200,000 with Oswal’s family as guarantor. When the Oswal family refused to take the guarantee, he made false allegations against Vasundhara. Later that person fled from Uganda.
Pankaj Oswal had fled from Australia:
Pankaj Oswal and his wife Radhika have been in controversies earlier too. In Australia, he was accused of serious allegations of tax evasion of $ 100 million and loan fraud. After this, both the couple left Australia in December 2010.
Pankaj Oswal started building a palace like the Taj Mahal in Australia. The bungalow, which cost around 70 million dollars (around 588 crores rupees), was named ‘Taj Mahal on the Swan’. Due to non-payment of taxes and violation of building rules, its construction was stopped in 2010 and in 2016 it was ordered to be demolished. He had already spent around 22 million dollars (185 crores) on it.
