DDLJ Statue Unveiled: Bollywood’s classic cult film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge has a fan following not only in India, but Raj and Simran are also loved abroad. Recently, a bronze statue of Raj and Simran was unveiled in London, which Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol personally visited. Raj and Simran are seen in their iconic looks in the bronze statue.

To mark the 30th anniversary of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol unveiled the bronze statue of Raj and Simran in London’s Leicester Square. This is a significant achievement for Bollywood, as it marks the first time an Indian film has been honored with a statue in Leicester Square.

Shah Rukh Khan became emotional upon seeing the statue:

At the statue’s launch event, Shah Rukh Khan expressed his happiness at receiving such an honor and explained that the film holds a special place in his heart. It was a film made with a true heart to spread love. He said that this film brought him recognition. He thanked the people of the UK and the Heart of London Business Alliance. Shah Rukh said, “This is an emotional moment that brings back many memories. I feel very proud of the love the film has received worldwide, and I want to share this moment with the entire DDLJ team, director Aditya Chopra, and the Yash Raj Films family. I will never forget this moment.”

Kajol was also overjoyed:

Kajol, also known as Simran from DDLJ, said that she, too, is very happy to receive so much love from people even after 30 years. “Watching the statue being unveiled in London was like reliving a part of our history. A story that has spanned generations,” he said.
